Juan Ignacio Ramos was born in Buenos Aires in 1955. He graduated from the University of Architecture and Urbanism of Buenos Aires in 1978. During his years of study he worked as an apprentice architect at his father’s firm: Ramos, Alvarez Forn, Ostman Arquitectos. In 1979 he co-founded Billoch-Dahl Rocha-Ramos Arquitectos. In 1988 they were finalists for the noted Premio Internazionale di Architecttura Andrea Palladio. In 1990 he founded Estudio Ramos, which has developed more than 400 projects across North America, South America, Europe and the Middle East. In 2016 and 2020, Estudio Ramos was selected by the European Cultural Centre to exhibit their work at La Biennale di Venezia.
Based in Buenos Aires and New York, Estudio Ramos has developed a distinctive style that relies on a well defined vision of modernism. Through 40 years of experience the firm has developed its work with a deep respect for architecture’s principles. During his years of study he worked as a draftsman at Estudio Ramos and as a collaborator with the artist Michael Singer. In 2007 he became a partner at Estudio Ramos.
