CALIFORNIA EQUESTRIAN COTTAGES

Project: California Equestrian Cottages

Location: Lake County, California, USA

Size:  1570 m2

Status: Project

Partners: Juan Ignacio Ramos & Ignacio Ramos

Located within the Maha Guenoc Valley Polo & Equestrian Club and Residences, the project was conceived as a collection of dispersed hotel cottages, offering a private and sophisticated hospitality experience deeply connected to nature and the surrounding environment. A central amenities building is complemented by individual cottages carefully positioned across the mountain, allowing guests to experience an authentic sense of living within the extraordinary Napa Valley landscape.
The architectural approach is intentionally simple and sensitive to the site, relying on noble local materials such as stone collected from the property itself, natural wood, and planted green roofs. The cottages are carefully adapted to the mountain slope, blending naturally into the terrain while preserving privacy and maximizing privileged views toward the valleys, vineyards, and surrounding nature.
Each hotel cottage features spacious and comfortable interiors organized around an integrated living, dining, and kitchen area, together with two en-suite bedrooms. Outdoors, generous terraces with solariums and private swimming pools extend the living experience into the landscape, reinforcing the seamless relationship between architecture and nature.
Large floor-to-ceiling windows frame the surrounding scenery and allow natural light and vegetation to become a constant presence within the interiors, creating an atmosphere of calm, warmth, and immersion in the environment.
The project was designed with the goal of minimizing its impact on the natural site, respecting the existing topography, vegetation, and local ecosystems. Through this approach, the hotel cottages offer an intimate and exclusive hospitality experience, providing guests with a true taste of what it means to inhabit such a unique place as Napa Valley.
